How To Make The Healthiest Turkey Soup Ever Using Chinese Soup Mix

Grandma always said, If you are sick you need to eat chicken soup. Who hasn’t heard those words? Stand the same with turkey. That doesn’t mean just go grab a pack of chicken noodle soup off the shelf and you are good to go.  Not a chance, not all chicken/turkey soup is healthy. We all know that homemade soup is healthy but do you really know why?

What makes Chicken/Turkey Soup healthy

  • The Stock or Broth is a very important component to a healthy soup. The packaged dry stock just won’t cut it. It is full off 59–72%  salt,  hydrogenated fat, monosodium glutamate, flavor enhancers, flavors. Homemade bullion should be made from the chicken carcass. I know it sounds gross but it is a great way to make use of all the chicken and all the nutrients, minerals are in the carcass.
  • Vegetables are also an important ingredient. Add whatever vegetables you like, the more the merrier and you may prefer some over others but most important is that you have a nice array of color and nutrient-rich veggies.
  • Chinese medicinal herbs the Chinese secret to good health and a great addition to a healthy soup because of all the health benefits they provide. You can buy pre-packaged Chinese soup mixes to add into your soup. There are many varieties and many I use infused in my Healthy Teas
