There are so many ways to make avocado toast in which I will share my favorite 6 simple topping for delicious healthy avocado toast.

What is an Avocado?

The Avocado is a fruit from the flowering Lauraceae plant originating from
South Central Mexico,  There are many nutritional benefits as well as they just taste so good. Of course, it does not seem to be for everyone’s liking.

  • Are Avocado and Guacamole the same? Yes, although avocado is the primary ingredient, guacamole normally consists of tomato, onion, garlic, cilantro and lime juice to make a dip.
  • Are avocados healthy? Yes, they are high fat although a plant-based healthy unsaturated fat. Nutrients include Vita A, C, B-6, iron, and magnesium to name a few.
  • Should I eat avocados every day? Everything in moderation. Although avocados are healthy does NOT mean you can go hog wild and eat guacamole or the fruit in access.
  • Can I gain weight? Absolutely, If you eat an unbalanced high saturated fat diet as well you are likely to gain weight.
  • Is it possible to lose weight? Of course, eating healthy unsaturated fats along with a healthy diet and exercise you can definitely lose weight.
  • How many calories in an avocado? Well, 1/2 is about 100 g which is around 160 calories. This is the recommended daily intake, although more is safe is you are on a controlled diet.
  • What are the benefits of avocados? Besides, the nutritional value along with omega-3 fatty acids these benefits help maintain healthy brain and body function. Decrease risk of Cancer, Osteoporosis, aid digestion and depression to name a few.
  • What should I know when buying avocados? Pick a fruit that is not too hard or green. Pick ones that are a bit riper being a darker color slightly soft. If they are too green put in a paper bag and keep on the counter for a day or two then put in the fridge. If they are too green and hard they will not ripen in the fridge.
  • The other half of my avocado turned brown the next day, Is it still ok? Yes, use a knife or a spoon and gently skim off the brownish layer and discard. If it is too brown throughout I’d say throw it out. Less apealing.

How to make delicious avocado toast with 6 healthy toppings

Start by toasting a slice of healthy bread such as a sprouted grain, whole grain, whole wheat, rye. Lightly butter with preferably with real butter or ghee. Slice avocados or mash them with a drop of olive oil, lemon juice i desired. Sea salt and pepper are a must.

#1 – Simply sliced avocado with cayenne pepper, sea salt and pepper. Easy peasy.

#2 – Mashed avocado and a tsp of salsa of your choice.

#3 – Smashed avocado with a fried egg and a splash of Franks Red Hot sauce.

#4 – Smashed avocado with sliced Roma tomatoes sprinkled with Feta cheese, sea salt, and pepper to taste.

#5 – Taco avocado toast,. Smashed avocado with shredded cheese, crushed taco chips finished with salsa. Of course the chips and cheese don’t make it the healthiest option but an option none the least.

#6 – Sliced avocados with tomato, sea salt and pepper. This one is a bit messy to eat.
